Day 1-2 Pailyn Hotel, good tourist class or similar. Day 2-3 Rimkok Hotel, good tourist class or similar. Day 3-4 Golden Triangle Resort, good tourist class or similar. Day 4-6 Rydges Tape Chiang Mai, first class or similar.
Day 1: Bangkok - Bang Pa In - Lopburi - Phitsanulok - Sukhothai (L/D)
Our trip’s first stop is in the town of Bang Pa In, Bang Pa In is a very well known town, the Royal family has their summer palace in this little town. Lunch will be catered in a local restaurant in Lopburi. After lunch our trip continues to Phitsanulok, approximately 390 km North of Bangkok. We will visit the Wat Phra Si, which houses the famous statue of Phra Phutta Chinnarat. This bronze sculpture is almost as important to the Thais as the Emerald Buddha, who you will find in Bangkok. After our visit in the temple, we continue to Sukhotai. Dinner and overnight at the Pailyn Hotel (or similar).
Day 2: Sukhothai - Si Satchanalai - Phrae - Phayao - Chiang Rai (B/L/D)
After breakfast we will visit the historical park of Sukhothai, famous for its many ruins of temples and Buddha images. Sukhothai was the first capital of old Siam. We will continue to Si Satchanalai, which used to be an important satellite city for Sukhothai. A promenade along the beautiful river of Yom and over the suspension bridge, will take us to today’s lunch place. Our trip continues northbound through the towns of Phrae and Phayao. As we leave Phayao you will see Wat Si Khom Kham, this temple is about 400 years old. Chiang Rai, the destination of today is coming up as the evening settles in. We overnight at Rimkok Hotel (or similar) and dinner at the same hotel.
Day 3: Chiang Rai - Mae Sai - Golden Triangle (B/L/D)
After breakfast the journey takes us over the mountains of Doi Mae Salong and Doi Mae Chan. From here we switch over into minivan, our bus can no longer make its way through on the narrow winding mountain roads. We will visit the mountain tribes, Akha in Mae Salong and Yao In Mae Chan. Once again we changes into busses, and we continue our trip to the most Northern city in Thailand, Mae Sai, practically on the boarder of Burma. Today’s lunch will be in Mae Sai. After lunch we continue to the Golden Triangle, Sop Ruak and this nights accommodation, Golden Triangle Resort, where also the dinner is served.
Day 4: The Golden Triangle - Chang Mai (B/L/D)
After breakfast we will walk around the old ruins of the city Chiang Saen. Our trip continues to Mae Kha Jan to visit the hot springs, we also make a short stop to visit the garden of Jarin. The trip continues to the mountain of Doi Suthep, not far from the top you find the temple of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. After visiting this temple, the trip goes on to our final destination, Chiang Mai. This night we go to a Kantoke dinner with classical Thai dance and we overnight at Rydges Tapae (or similar) in Chiang Mai.
Day 5: Chiang Mai (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the Hotel. We will spend the whole day visiting Chiang Mai. In the morning we will visit the elephant camp Maesa, Queen Sirikit’s botanical garden and an orchid farm. After lunch we will visit the craft center San Kampaeng. Dinner at the Rydges Tapae Hotel.
Day 6: Chiang Mai (B)
Breakfast at Rydges Tapae Hotel and transfer to the airport.
